Sarah Joy Charity MacNaught was born to Steve and Carol MacNaught on December 9, 2000. She was also joyfully welcomed into the MacNaught clan by her Grandmother Elizabeth, Grandfather John, and Aunt Linda (along with cousins Eric and Kyle), as well as into the Heisler Family by Grandmother Priscilla, Grandfather Steven, and Aunts Faith, Hope, and Rosann.
Sarah was entrusted by God with a unique mission in life: to demonstrate God’s supernatural peace and unconditional love without one word. She did this through maintaining a beatific, broad smile and girlish giggles and laughter shared with anyone who took the opportunity to engage with her. She loved her life and her family, and never complained of the severe limitations placed upon her life through a congenital neuromuscular condition that rendered her bed confined, with limited ability to move, and inability to speak. In spite of these physical limitations, she spread her infectious joy and supreme example of acceptance, peace, contentment, and unconditional love to hundreds who knew of her and had the privilege of coming into contact with her.
Sarah’s favorite pastimes included listening to Christian music, especially when her Mommy and Daddy sang to her, engaging in song and being assisted in “dance” by her beloved grandmother and aunts, blowing kisses to her Daddy, Mommy, and aunts, dressing up in princess dresses, watching other children from around the world happily dance in Karen Henley DVDs and Disney’s “It’s a Small World” ride, and celebrating holidays and even each new day with her family.
At age 12, Sarah affirmed her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior through unmistakeable sign language. She joined in family prayer through folded hands. She delighted in songs about Jesus’ love. Without a word Sarah taught volumes about contentment, joy, love, and peace. She was a treasured precious princess, granddaughter, daughter, and niece.
Sarah’s earthly journey ended on June 6, 2020 due to complications following a tragic ventilator malfunction. She had bravely endured most of her life on a ventilator. She was ushered in a whirlwind into the presence of Jesus and her beloved grandparents, sibling Precious, and Aunt Rosann. She is survived by and deeply missed by her parents and aunts Faith, Hope, and Linda, along with extended family and praying friends, including great aunts Florence and Joyce.
Memorials for Sarah may be directed to her family to help defray the cost of unexpected burial expenses.
Thank you.
