She was born September 2, 1921 in Marianna, Florida. She was a beautician and the owner of Ruth’s Beauty Shop in Lake Alfred, Florida. She was a member of the Gardenia Beautician Club, the Friendly Garden Club and Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Lake Alfred, Florida.

Mrs. Crawford is survived by a brother, Wayne Herring, Marianna, Florida; 4 daughters, Gertie Scott, Lakeland; Naomi Nesbitt, Saint Petersburg; Lillian (Doris) Hopkins, Lake Alfred; Sheryl Roye, Fort Pierce; 2 sons, Robert A. Crawford, Jr., Orlando; Anthony E. Crawford, Sr., Bartow. 18 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchidren; 30 great-great grandchildren; 3 great-great-great grandchildren.

At times we felt helpless having not been in this position before but Don and staff were careful not to encroach upon the sensitivity of the situation.
