WINTER SPRINGS – Lojean Daniels departed this life peacefully on Saturday, January 16, 2021. She was born on October 17, 1939 to the union of Gene & Lodie (Peagler) Hunt in Greenville, Alabama. Lojean, affectionately called “Susie” or “Lo”, relocated to Syracuse, NY after marriage in 1963.
Lojean began working as a Nursing Aide at Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital. In 1975, when her children were 11, 9, 5 and 2 years old, she enrolled in the Practical Nurse Program at Central Technical High School in Syracuse. She earned her degree in 1979 and went on to work as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Van Duyn Home and Hospital. She worked at Van Duyn until she retired after twenty-six (26) years of service. Lojean was an excellent employee who always treated her patients like she would want to be treated – with kindness and respect.
Lojean loved the Lord and dedicated her life to Him. Prior to relocating to Florida in 2010, she and her family were members of The Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, led by the late Bishop – Robert W. Jones – in Syracuse for over 40 years. Lojean was an avid member and sang in the choir for many years. The church was an integral part of her life and an extension of her family. She was well known at the church for her pound cakes, which she would oftentimes give as gifts.
Lojean loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends. One of her favorite trips was to NYC every Christmas, where she would shop and enjoy the “Radio City Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes”. Her second favorite trip was to travel every summer to the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World Convention with her brother Gene and her good friends Lisant and Wesley (Will) Spencer. Lojean enjoyed cooking, reading, bowling and attending both plays and concerts. She enjoyed sewing; she sewed most of her girls clothing when they were young. Lojean also loved gardening. She maintained beautiful flower and vegetable gardens.
Lojean was a loving and devoted mother to her children. She cherished her family and was a doting Grandmother. She was a sweet and caring person. She had an incredible sense of humor, an infectious laugh, and a smile that would light up any room she entered.
