WINTER HAVEN – Erline Pierre Alexis, age 44, passed away Monday, October 26, 2020.
Erline was born in Leogane, Haiti, on March 20, 1976, with Sickle Cell Disease. This disease was relentless in allowing her extended periods without pain, but she lived life to the fullest despite her sickness and difficulties. Erline brought fun wherever she was. There was never a dull moment in her presence nor an opportunity to be too serious around her. She was considered the “cool aunt” amongst her nieces and nephews. Erline made sure to educate her friends and family about the disease. She created a safe atmosphere to ask her questions and learn more about what she was experiencing.
Life had its twists and turns, but she believed God would remain faithful. Erline is preceded in death by her two sons, “Bebe” Raphael and Roger Raphael, who also had the Sickle Cell Disease. She is survived by her daughter, Mathila Raphael, and other family and friends. This journey without her presence will be difficult. She was a reminder to live life, to be grateful for everything, and to seek happiness. Erline will be greatly missed; the laughter she brought to a room we will now experience through the remembrance of her.
