DELORIS JOHNSON MITCHELL

LAKE WALES – Deloris Johnson Mitchell, age 79, was born September 18, 1934 to Lillie Bell Johnson and John Wesley Johnson in Madison, Florida.

Her Christian faith and testimony was made manifest at an early age. Sister Mitchell was a loyal and dedicated member for fifty-five years at the Mt. Zion Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. She served faithfully under the Pastorialship of Reverend A. L. Dixon, Reverend J. D. Johnson, Reverend J. L. Jones and her present Pastor, Reverend Willie Lee Kingcade.

She also served as a Youth Leader, Senior Mission member and a Leader of the Adult Senior Choir, sharing her melodious voice until her health failed.

She departed this life and entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Kindred Hospital, Tampa, Florida.
