Carol Joy Charity MacNaught was surrounded by her beloved and adoring husband Steve MacNaught and her loving sisters Faith and Hope Heisler as she was swiftly, gently, and lovingly carried by angels to Heaven and placed in the arms of her precious Savior Jesus Christ on June 27th, 2020. We are certain of this due to the truth of God’s promises and Carol’s close relationship with God through her deep trust in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
As Carol exited this world, her sweet melodious voice filled the room, proclaiming her faith and singing her praises to God, by virtue of recordings she had recently made. We can only imagine the beauty of her glorified voice being added to the heavenly choir praising her Awesome, Almighty God as she was ushered into His glorious presence. Thus concluded her earthly journey, a lifelong adventure that began in New York City on January 4th, 1964 when Saul Steven and Priscilla Patricia Heisler welcomed her as a cherubic faced, blond haired, blue eyed baby into their family. She became the third of four girls; they joyfully named her Carol Joy Charity. Carol was aptly named, as she loved to sing from her earliest age, and she was blessed with an angelic voice. She used her gift to glorify God daily in song. Her beautiful voice rang out praises during solos in church and also in recordings and videos she made to comfort and encourage individuals who were ill and those who were confined to home due to age or disability. She would even make and freely mail CDs to them. She also went into nursing homes to minister in music to the residents. Her songs added joy to all family celebrations, especially Christmas and birthdays. She lovingly sang daily to her daughter Sarah, which provoked glee and joyful smiles, and Carol happily sang to and with her beloved husband Steve. She also shared her melodies with family and friends through recordings on FaceBook. Her faith, expressed through music, gave comfort, reassurance, and encouragement. She truly was given a gift by God and freely and generously shared it with so many.
In addition to her music ministry, Carol also completed a nursing degree in Tulsa, Oklahoma and worked in the hospital labor and delivery department. She loved to help bring new life into the world and cuddling with newborns. She later ministered on the phone and online as a triage nurse and as a nursing case manager for chronically ill patients. In addition, Carol pursued a Masters degree in Christian counseling from Liberty University. Always striving to bring light into darkness, she used her training to encourage and minister to her patients, her family, and her friends.
Carol had a special place in her heart for disabled individuals, even before being a loving mother to Sarah and the disabilities that her Sarah endured. The challenges that Carol faced with her own health gave her tremendous empathy for the suffering of others. She did not allow any of her obstacles to prevent her from comforting others. She always brought great joy to her family and to those with whom she came in contact. She was exceedingly generous with herself, her gifts, and her financial resources.
Carol will be greatly missed by many, but her songs will live on in our hearts and in the many videos and recordings she prepared and left as treasured reminders of her faith and love for her Lord Jesus. She is survived by her husband Steve MacNaught, sister in law Linda, her sisters Faith and Hope Heisler, her aunts Florence, Joyce, and Roslyn, and many cousins and dear friends. She was preceded into glory by her parents Saul Steven and Priscilla Patricia, her sister Rosann and her beloved daughter Sarah Joy Charity MacNaught.
